My new True Love!

Discovered these guys on Oprah and now I have to listen to them everynight before I go to bed as my lula bye. They are amazing singers and didn't know that Celine Dione was coming on the show to suprise them. So cute. Pause my music at the bottom first.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason, Layton and I had an unspoken suicide pact at the Anderson family reunion this year. Layton went cliff jumping,(I did not), we hiked up to Timp Cave in Utah and I nearly killed myself by heat stroke on the way up. We also went on every scary ride at Lagoon. We had the best time ever!! Special thanks to Nathan and Kristin for putting it all together for us. Every day was well planned and we had a wonderful time filled with wonderful memories.

Surprise! I am trying once again to blog. I am so bad at this that I have to have Heidi on the phone with me to help me do it. But, we have a very important event coming up and I have to let everyone know.

(Drum roll) The Race For The Cure Boise Chapter is coming up and I am inviting everyone to join our team and come walk with us.

Saturday, May 9 is the day of the race. Anyone who wants to come will be given free bed and breakfast at my house with a pot luck BBQ following the race. We had so much fun last year, (See photos) and hope you can come this year.

To register, go to the Susan B. Koman website, http://www.komenboise.org/, find our team name (Lisa's Support BRAA )(BRAA stands for Because Results Are Attainable) and sign up. It is very easy and user friendly. If you have problems, you can print out a registration form and mail it instead. Still having problems? Call me. (208) 461-3046.

Henderson Family Reunion

It very nearly took a miracle, but we finally managed to have a Henderson Sisters Family Reunion. We met in the Cascade Mountains at Ensign Ranch, a campground owned by the church. We had the lodge and a bunk house all to ourselves. It was so wonderful.

The weather, predicted to be rainy, was sunny and beautiful. The leaves were changing colors right before our eyes and because we met in October, we had the campground nearly to ourselves.

Laura's and Matt's son Greg had just returned from his mission so we had a lot of catching up to do. Michell and her two daughters were with us along with Jennifer, Ford and their two and a half kids. Cameron completed the Hardy tribe attendance and was the all around winner of the extreme ping-pong. (although others may dispute the title.)

Myself, Megan and her three rug-rats were the first to arrive and "set up camp". We were followed by Layton, Jake, Curt, Janae, and Levi arriving just a few hours after us. Heidi, Luke and their two kids were right on the bumper of Layton and his carload. We had Thursday night to ourselves at the Lodge where we invented extreme ping-pong, aka rafter pong. Layton had to drive into town the next morning and buy new ping-pong balls. teehee!!

Mom, Lynell, Anna and Marta arrived Friday morning bringing a van load of food and fun.
After that it was one carload after another until we were all settled snugly. Lani and girls arrived early afternoon followed by The Bresciano bunch. We had 41 in all, fourteen being ages seven and under.

The highlight of the reunion was celebrating Mom's 75Th birthday with an impromptu talent show. The men won the prize for best talent, singing Ye Elders of Israel a cappella, in Spanish and English. The teenage girls won second prize for The Lion Sleeps Tonight. The married cousins did and excellent rendition of Sisters from White Christmas but I feel that "The Sisters" did an outstanding job reviving an old family favorite, Lovely Hula Hands.

Hope these pictures give you a hint of the fab-o time we had.

Race for the Cure 2008

May 10, 2008

My wonderful family (minus Megan and Jake) joined in for Race for the Cure. We had a beautiful, sunny day and lots of fun. The wind kicked up once in a while and I had to tie down my hat, but other than that, the weather was great.

We did the 5k walk. Layton's mom and dad joined us as did several friend from my work. We had a total of 16 on our team.

Thanks to all of you for getting us closer to a cure.

Tea Party At Nana's.

One of my favorite things is to have the grand kids over for a tea party. We go all out with costumes, hats, traditional foods, hot chocolate instead of tea and our very best manners. The grand kids love it, I love it, and my girls get into the spirit also.
